VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR) proudly marks its 80th anniversary in 2026, celebrating eight decades of delivering high-quality home health care, hospice, and community services to families across Rutland, Bennington, and Franklin counties. Since its founding in 1946, the agency has been committed to its mission to promote health, independence, dignity, and comfort for individuals of all ages in the communities it serves.
Over the past 80 years, the agency has grown from a small group of dedicated community members into a trusted nonprofit home health and hospice provider. Throughout this journey, VNAHSR has continuously evolved to meet changing and more complex health needs, embracing change through innovative care models and expanding its reach across southwestern Vermont, all while keeping compassionate, patient-centered care at the heart of its work.
“We are incredibly grateful to our staff, board, volunteers, partners, and supporters whose commitment to excellence has sustained us for 80 years,” said Jessica Boutin, Chief Executive Officer. “Our history is built on a foundation of compassion and community, and it is that same spirit that will guide us into the future as we continue to serve our neighbors with unwavering care and respect.”
Since its inception, the agency’s services have spanned the continuum of care, from skilled nursing and rehabilitation therapies to hospice support, chronic disease management, maternal-child health, and palliative care, enabling patients to heal and thrive in the comfort of their homes. As community health needs continue to evolve, VNAHSR remains committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care that enhances the lives of individuals and families throughout the region.
