Don’t miss the 6th Annual “Dancing with the Rutland Stars” event coming to the Paramount Theatre paramountvt.org on Saturday, October 8th. It’s going to be bigger and better than last year with more surprises and fun in store. This special fundraising event benefits Kids on the Move and RAVNAH’s Pediatric High-Tech program.
This year’s “stars” are: Tom Cohen, president of Carpet Warehouse; Marleen Cenate, SVP of Business Services at Heritage Family Credit Union; Sara Gilbert, Assistant Director of Rutland Economic Development Corp.; Thomas Hartigan, Occupational Therapist of Rutland Regional Medical Center; Chris LaFlamme, Jr., owner of LaFlamme’s Inc.; Russ Marsan, owner of Carpenter & Costin; Eliza Wilcox, Leader of HR & Safety at Green Mountain Power.
Their professional partners are: David Allan, of Green Mountain Swing Dancing & Brandon Music; Bill Kelley, owner of Pyramid Holistic Wellness Center; Heather Brouillard, owner of Miss Lorraine’s School of Dance ; Adam King of Studio Fitness; Sheila McCutcheon, of Miss Jackie’s Studio of Dance; Tracy Tedesco of Fitness Made Fun!; Kylee Lawrence, owner – instructor of Studio 15; Academy of the Arts.
While the entertaining nature of the event is certainly a draw for the dancers, most are compelled to participate in the performance because of the important cause the event supports. All event proceeds benefit the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice’s Kids on the Move and Pediatric High-Tech rehabilitation programs. Kids On The Move serves children with genetic and developmental disorders, orthopaedic injuries and diseases, and developmental delays. Physical, occupational and speech language therapists work with children in the home and schools. Pediatric High-Tech is a program for children who need specialized nursing care at home. By bringing health care to the homes of thousands of area residents and children, these programs ensure that their patients receive quality care and comfort in the familiar setting of their own home.
