As part of our hospice care, Serenity Singers offer songs of healing and comfort at the bedside of hospice patients as a loving gift to those who need comfort and support at their most vulnerable time.
The Serenity Singers are a group of volunteer singers with the Bennington Area Visiting Nurse & Hospice who offer their harmonious voices to individuals with a life-limiting illness, as well as their families.
Since 2007 the group has been sharing their love of music with hospice patients and other community members in private homes, nursing homes, hospital rooms and at memorial services. Serenity Singers visit patients in small groups of 3-8 signers, singing a cappella in 3 or 4 part harmony or in rounds.
From spirituals, to hymns, to folk songs, to old standards, they touch the hearts of patients and families in immeasurable ways. Their presence tells people that they are not alone at the end of life and that they are still part of the community.
Serenity Singers offer a choice of music according to the patient’s musical preference and physical spiritual needs.
